Two of Robin's compositions "Walk with Me" and "A Song for Jennie" were danced to on the Great American Ballroom Challenge on PBS!

During Robin's December 2006 tour she performed 3 concerts within a 24 hour period in three different states!

Robin`s debut release, Heal of the Hand was financed with credit cards and a loan from a fan. After being picked up by North Star Music, it became the label`s best-selling album for two years in a row.

If shopping in South Korea, you might find Robin's Dreaming of Summer CD-----it is sold there under the title, "Remembering You". It made the top of the sales charts there!

Robin holds a B.F. A. in Drama from New York University.

Robin made her Carnegie Hall debut at the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall on March 15, 1997. She played three encores and received a standing ovation.

Unchained Melodies is listed in Audiophile Magazine (Hong Kong) as one of the 500 best-recorded albums of all time.

Robin's grandfather & great uncle played in the NBC Symphony Orchestra for conductor Arturo Toscanini. Her grandfather Rubin, for whom she is named, played the flute, and her uncle the violin. Both died before Robin was born.

Robin's first 'official' commission as a composer was to underscore David Mamet's adaptation of Chekhov's Three Sisters for the Philadelphia Festival Theater production in l990 and New York production starring Elizabeth McGovern in l991.

Robin's song "The Promise" from her CD Songs of the Spirit was the music in the 2004-2005 Mitsubishi commerical (in Taiwan!)

Robin has recorded three songs inspired by her fabulous felines. "Kitten's First Snow" was inspired by her childhood pet and appears on In the Arms of the Wind. She composed "Maneki Neko" while watching her newly-adopted kittens at play. (Songs of the Spirit ), and "The Orange Fox Waits" was inspired by her orange tabby's loyal devotion to Robin's husband/manager, Larry Kosson (A New Kind of Love).

Robin can be heard singing on two of her recordings....singing the subtle ahhs on the track `Pages, Princesses & Daughters` from In the Arms of the Wind, and `Real Pretty Mama` for which she wrote the lyrics and music on Mother. The latter is a tribute to Robin`s own mother.

Robin produced the piano recordings of her best friend, Robin Meloy Goldsby. They are entitled Somewhere In Time and Twilight. (The CDs are available on Amazon.com)

Heal of the Hand was recorded in one afternoon.

Balloonland is a childrens' musical that Robin co-wrote with writer Barry Shulak. The play was produced by the Atlantic Theater Company and enjoyed a successful run in both Burlington, Vermont and at The Atlantic Theater off-broadway (NYC) in 1992-93.

During recording sessions Robin survives on fig newtons and apple juice. Her favorite candy is the York Peppermint Pattie!

Robin is married to Larry Kosson Larry took the cover photos for Songs of the Spirit, In the Arms of the Wind, Beautiful Dreamer, Dreaming of Summer, With a Song in My Heart, American Chanukah, The Christmas Collection,In the Heart of Winter, A New Kind of Love and the artist photos for Mother.

Fourteen standards/theater songs/film songs appear on Unchained Melodies. Robin recorded 35.

Robin's acting credits include: two plays at Lincoln Center, The Lights (1993) and Boys Life (l988) as well as roles in Craig Lucas' Reckless, Peter Hedge's The Girl In Pink and Three Sisters, Tom Donaghy's Audrey's Complaint, and John Guare's Women & Water and As You Like It. She is a founding member of the Atlantic Theater Company.

Robin plays an improvisation on Pachibel's Canon in D for encores about 98% of the time. She never plays it the same way twice.

The 1998 March of Dimes campaign in West Virginia chose Dancing in the Quiet Rain from In the Arms of the Wind, as its theme song.

Her home piano is a 1962 Steinway.

Robin and her husband started their own label in the summer of 2000. It is called playMountain Music. The name comes from Robin's own last name-- "SPIEL" = 'play' and "BERG"= 'mountain' in German. In Europe, the word "Spielberg" was a musical term used to instruct musicians to 'play to the peak--to sing out, play hard'.

In 2003 Robin and her husband started their own booking agency, SMG Artists (Spobs Management Group). The company represents theater, dance, comedy and music artists

Robin is the Celebrity Spokesperson for the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA)

Robin mostly performs solo engagements, but over the years has teamed up with various artists for a special evening of music.
