Spielberg casts her spell at Tupelo Music Hall on August 10

I got the call on Tuesday afternoon.

"Robin Spielberg is performing at Tupelo Music Hall; can you cover the show for me? And, oh by the way, you'll need to introduce her from the stage."

There's only one response to having the opportunity to see Spielberg perform.

"Yes, thank you, you may have my next born son!"

So on August 10th, with "stage-fright-in-tow", and a "wicked-bad-cold-punishing-my-body", I made the journey to Tupelo.

Spielberg is an accomplished, classically trained musician who has performed extensively throughout the US and overseas. She has released thirteen recordings, including four albums of original piano solos.

I've seen Spielberg perform several times, and now own four of her CDs including her latest release, 'Memories of Utopia'. While her recordings are truly excellent, it's her live performance, and between-the-songs storytelling, that sets her apart from other artists and pianists.

From the moment she walks on stage, until the last note gently caresses the room, Spielberg casts a spell on her audience that is palpable, visceral, and spiritual. Better said - After you see her perform, you’ll just feel a whole lot better about the world.

Spielberg is a talented pianist, and an extraordinary storyteller. And, without question, she is one of the warmest, most genuine people you'll ever meet. I hope she'll return to Tupelo soon so you can be embraced by her performance.

I'd start with 'A song for Jennie'. It's a piano solo but, trust me on this one; you will hear the words in your head. How often does that happen?

Then listen to 'Spirit in this House', followed by 'In the Arms of the Wind'.

That's all it took to make me a Spielberg fan. I think you'll become "hooked" as well.
